Know the main symptoms that indicate that you should start thinking about acquiring your next work footwear.

In order for a worker to be able to carry out their work without impediments, it is essential that they have good work shoes. Unfortunately, although when we find a good shoe we tend to grow fond of it and we don't want to get rid of it, it is not eternal, it will not last forever, so from time to time we will have to get used to the idea of renewing it.

Let's see how to know when to change our work shoes:

Time of use: the general recommendation is that you should renew it every year. Although, as long as you do not find any of the following deficiencies, if you are comfortable with it you will be able to "squeeze" its use for many more months.

Worn or deteriorated sole: take a look at the drawing of the sole, if it is very deteriorated or has lost its relief, you should renew it since the loss of comfort will be noticeable. In addition, the risk of possible injuries due to poor foot support increases. A worn sole can cause falls and slips when stepping in the wet. Sometimes, as your footprint is different from one foot to another, you may notice how the wear between the different feet varies.

Cracks: if you see small cracks or grooves in the midsole area, it is because the shoe is losing its cushioning properties.

Cracked insoles: Although this is not always synonymous with worn-out shoes, take out the insole and look at it underneath. If in some areas, especially the toecap, they are broken or barely thick, it is a sign that they have endured many days of work. Change them with new ones if the shoes have no other deficiencies or replace the shoes with a new one.

Other defects: Whether you notice that the closure is not working properly, or if the lining or upper has tears or exposes sharp edges that could cause injuries, you should repair the defects if possible or change the shoe.

Pain: if you begin to notice unusual pain in the heel, ankle, knee, discomfort in the tarsus or Achilles tendon, even in the muscles, it may be a sign of deteriorated footwear. The pain tends to appear when the footfall is more traumatic due to poor cushioning. In this case, do not wait, it is time to change.

Finally remember, the useful life of the footwear is directly related to the conditions of use and the quality of its maintenance.
